A hot spring with a history of 3000 years
We recommend you Japanese oldest hot spring “Dogo Onsen”. It is one of Japanese three oldest hot springs in Japan and has a history of more than 3000 years.
Dogo Onsen is recorded in Japanese ancient books “Nihon Shoki”, “Manyoshu” and “The Tale of Genji”, and many famous literatians such as Prince Shotoku, Natsume Soseki visited there.
It has 29 hot spring sources in total, of which 18 are currently in operation. The hot spring temperature is 20 to 55 ° C, and the discharge amount is 2000t on average a day. They are gathered up in four hot water places and are distributed to communal baths and surrounding inns. The symbol of Dogo Onsen is the Dogo Onsen Main Building, which was built in 1894.
The building and the public bath are like old Japan.
A shopping area is nearby, where guests wearing yukata are enjoying shopping after bathing in hot springs.
Nearby there are Japanese historical spots such as “Dogo Park” and “Matsuyama Castle”.
