What kind of building is Tokyo Tower?

Tokyo Tower was completed on December 23, 1958. Its official name is “Japan Radio Tower”, and its height is 333m, which is a symbol of Tokyo and has long been popular around the world.

It was the tallest standing tower in Japan for about 51 years before being overtaken by the Tokyo Sky Tree (634m). It is currently the second tallest building in Japan after the Tokyo Sky Tree.

The colors of Tokyo Tower are two impressive colors, red and white. It is a color that is easy to see from an airplane.

What are the highlights of Tokyo Tower?

Tokyo Tower has two observation decks: a 150m main deck and a 250m top deck. On the main deck you can have a panoramic view of Tokyo.

The top deck, which was renewed in 2018, is a little expensive, but is recommended for those who want to enjoy Tokyo Tower.

On the Top Deck Tour, audio guides and binoculars are available for 13 languages.

The glass interior of the top deck is very impressive.

There is no time limit, so you can enjoy the view from there to your heart’s content.

The Skywalk Window has a glass floor that gives you the feeling of walking in the air at 145m. Of course, do not worry about the bottom coming off.

Tower Daijingu was built in 1977. It is known as the highest shrine in Tokyo’s 23 wards. (It is on the main deck.) It is a venerable shrine that invites the Holy Spirit from Ise Jingu to worship the Amaterasu God.

Because the shrine is located at the highest point, many students who want to improve their scores come there. The next official shop sells talismans for learning, marriage and traffic safety.
